Thomas Heard died from meningitis on 15th March, 1915 while serving on the Western Front. The 1st Royal West Kent battalion of 13 Brigade, 5th Division, went to Fance at the start of the war in August, 1914 and during the opening months of 1915 were holding part of the line around Ypres in Belgium. |
